Objects Extraordinair

For the past few years I've been engaged in drawing as a process to explore the significance of the material things around me. The object drawings involved a daily practice of selecting an item from the studio or home and then rendering them on small torn pieces of paper. This exploration heightened my awareness of my physical surroundings and on my possessions in particular. It brought into focus the relevance of material acquisitions as representations of the self. What we choose to keep or what we wish to acquire gives expression to one's identity. I am awed by the evidence of the boundless creative expressions of man that these objects represent in this visual inventory.
